I Quit Nursing and Built a Life I Actually Wanted: Here's What I Learned
Before Studio Kynd, I was a nurse. I had never run a business, never worked for myself and never really considered that a completely different kind of life was possible but I knew something needed to change. I just didn't know what yet.
So I booked a flight to India, on my own and that changed everything.
In India, I met digital nomads for the first time. People building businesses from laptops, working from cafés and rooftops, moving between countries, designing their life around their work rather than the other way around; I had never seen anything like it.
I remember thinking, I want this. I have no idea how to do it but I wanted to make it happen and that trip planted something in me that I couldn't unfeel. A knowing that the life I was living was not the only option, that there was another way and that people were already living it.
A year later, the universe delivered.
Studio Kynd was born from an Instagram post. Within a month I was fully booked and a few months after that I was working remotely from a tiny village in Andalucia, paddleboarding in the evenings and spending my weekends in Sevilla and then I booked a one way ticket to Mexico and from there I travelled the world.
What I have learned about building a life you actually want.
001 - Get honest.
Not what sounds good but with what is actually true.
What does your ideal day look like?
Where are you?
Who are you with?
What are you working on?
Most people have never genuinely sat with these questions and the answer changes everything.
002 - Start before you feel ready.
I went to India not knowing what I was looking for, I posted my designs not knowing what would happen and with that the clarity came through doing, it always does.
003 - Your environment shapes everything.
I didn't realise how much my old life was limiting my thinking until I left it. A different country and a different way of spending my days. It changed what felt possible.
The life you want is not as far away as it feels.
A year before Studio Kynd existed, I was watching strangers in India live the life I wanted and thinking, I don't know how and a year later I was living it and this was not because I had a perfect plan but because I kept moving towards what felt true, one decision at a time.
Your business should be built around the life you want, not the other way around and that starts with getting completely honest about what that life actually looks like.
If you are working that out right now, a free energy alignment call is a good way to begin.
