Your Audience Is Not Looking for Perfection, They Are Looking for Resonance.
When I first started Studio Kynd, I did not have the “perfect” brand. I did not have a huge audience, a polished website, expensive equipment, or some perfectly curated online presence.
Truthfully, I was still figuring so much of it out as I went.
At the time, I was still working as a nurse while slowly building this business in the background. I would spend late nights teaching myself design, refining my skills, creating passion projects, sharing what I was learning and slowly putting pieces of myself online.
And somehow, even without having everything “perfect,” I was fully booked almost immediately.
It was not because I had everything figured out. Honestly, half the time I was learning as I went. I was building Studio Kynd in the evenings around nursing shifts, posting work where I could and simply trying to create something that felt meaningful to me.
Looking back, I think people connected with the honesty of that.
I shared parts of my journey, what I cared about, why branding mattered to me, the deeper feeling I wanted brands to have… and over time, the right people naturally found me.
Over the years, my brand has evolved massively visually, but the thing that has always stayed the same is resonance.
Because people do not connect with brands because they are flawless.
They connect because something feels real.
I think social media can make founders feel as though they need to arrive at some final polished version of themselves before they are allowed to fully show up. The perfect logo. The perfect strategy. The perfect content plan. More followers. More confidence. More experience.
But often, that pressure is the very thing keeping people stuck.
Because while you are waiting to become “ready,” somebody else is simply showing up consistently, sharing their work, speaking honestly and allowing people to connect with them as they grow.
And honestly, I still see this now with so many of my clients.
The founders who grow the most are rarely the ones waiting until everything is perfect. They are the ones willing to start before they feel fully ready.
They keep showing up.
They keep refining.
They keep sharing their perspective, their work, their story.
And over time, people begin to trust them because consistency builds familiarity and familiarity builds trust.
I have watched clients go from quietly posting their work to becoming fully booked, launching dream projects, opening studios, hosting retreats, being featured in magazines and attracting opportunities they once thought were out of reach… not because they became perfect overnight, but because they stayed visible long enough for people to truly see them.
I think there is something really powerful about continuing to show up as you evolve.
Not waiting until everything looks polished.
Not hiding until you feel qualified enough.
Not shrinking yourself until every detail feels complete.
Just allowing people to witness the journey.
Because often, that is the very thing they connect with most.
Your audience is not looking for perfection.
They are looking for resonance.
