Learning to Show Up Fully in Business
For a long time, I struggled to fully show up and this was not because I didn’t have dreams or because I didn’t have something meaningful to offer but because somewhere along the way, I learned that taking up space came with discomfort.
Being visible meant being perceived.
Sharing my work meant being judged.
Success meant being seen.
For many women, especially those building businesses from the heart, this is one of the deepest, quietest wounds of all. These patterns show up when we hesitate before posting, when we soften our prices, when we overthink every word and when we dim our gifts before anyone has even responded.
Sometimes we call it “lack of confidence.” but often, it is something much older than that, it is protection and conditioning. Carl Jung believed that what remains unconscious will continue to shape our lives and I have come to realise that so much of what we call “confidence issues” is actually an old protective pattern…
Many of us learned, consciously or not, that visibility could invite comparison, that success could invite criticism and that shining brightly might make others uncomfortable, so we adapted, we became smaller, we stayed quiet and we waited.
The sister wound often lives beneath the surface of entrepreneurship.
It can look like:
Comparison with other women online
Feeling behind or not enough
Shrinking in rooms where we belong
Fear of being misunderstood
Believing there is only space for a few
But the truth is… Another woman’s success does not diminish yours, there is room for all of us and healing begins when we stop seeing visibility as danger and start seeing it as devotion.
Three Heart-Led Ways to Heal (So You Can Show Up Fully)
001. Make the Unconscious Conscious
The first step is simply noticing.
Where are you shrinking?
Where are you hesitating?
Where are you dimming your voice before anyone even responds?
Awareness is where freedom begins because what we can name, we can soften and what we can soften, we can transform.
002. Release the Need for Approval
True freedom comes when we stop living for other people’s expectations and in business, this is everything. Your work cannot fully expand if you are constantly asking:
Will they like this?
Will I be judged?
Is it safe to be seen?
Showing up requires the courage to be misunderstood, and your brand is not built through permission, it is built through presence.
003. Commit to Your Own Path, Again and Again
Healing is not a one-time breakthrough, it is a daily devotion.
To show up anyway.
To share your work anyway.
To take up space anyway.
The goal was never to outshine anyone else, it was to stop abandoning yourself.
If you needed this reminder today: You do not need permission to shine, and your business will expand when you stop shrinking, and the world does not need you smaller. It needs you here, fully.
With love,
